Shrub and Hedge Trimming

Shaping and trimming that keeps walkways clear and plants healthy, with the heavy work timed around the desert heat.

Trimmed to look natural and stay healthy

Common desert shrubs like Texas sage, oleander, and lantana grow fast in the warm months and can swallow walkways, windows, and walls. Regular shaping keeps them in scale.

We favor selective pruning that keeps a plant’s natural form. Formal hedges get clean lines; flowering shrubs are trimmed with their bloom in mind.

A good fit if

  • Shrubs are blocking paths, windows, or sightlines
  • You have formal hedges that need regular, even trimming
  • Your HOA has appearance standards

Local conditions

Pruning on a desert calendar

  • Late winter to spring: the main window for heavier structural pruning on many shrubs, before the growth flush.
  • Summer: light shaping only. Heavy cuts expose interior branches to intense sun and add stress.
  • Fall: a second window for shaping and cleanup as temperatures drop.
  • After a freeze: damaged growth is usually left through winter and removed once new growth appears.

Timing varies by plant. We’ll tell you when a plant is better left alone for now.

How it works

How trimming is handled

  1. Request with photos Photos of the shrubs help us scope the job quickly.
  2. Plant-by-plant plan We note what to shape, what to reduce, and what to leave.
  3. Trim and clean up Clippings are cleared from beds and hard surfaces.
  4. Keep it on schedule Add trimming to a recurring plan so shrubs stay in scale.

Questions

Common questions

Can you cut back a badly overgrown shrub all at once?

Sometimes. Some plants recover well from hard pruning and others don’t. We’ll recommend a staged approach when one heavy cut would do more harm than good.

Do you trim palm trees?

Palms and larger trees are handled by our tree services. Tell us how many and roughly how tall in your request.

Do you haul away clippings?

Yes. Cleanup of clippings from the work area is included.
